Health Professionals tell us the top five foods for men to increase performance and stamina when it matters most.

#1 – Vegetables and Fruit

Vegetables and fruit are great sources of vitamins and nutrients that are needed if you want to really go for a “marathon session” in the bedroom.  They are also full of water and easy to digest, so they will keep all of your muscles lubricated and ready for action.  An additional benefit is that they are low fat, so in the long run they help prevent heart disease and erectile dysfunction.  One extra tip; the less you cook the vegetables the more nutrients they retain, so eat some lightly steamed veggies and let the games begin!

#2 – Oysters

Everyone has heard the rumor that oysters are an aphrodisiac, often due to the texture and appearance of the shellfish.  Doctors laughed at this until they realized that oysters are loaded with Zinc, a nutrient vital for a man’s reproductive and sexual function.  However, if you plan to eat them raw make sure that they are fresh and prepared properly, or your romantic evening may be spent cuddling with the toilet as opposed to your lovely lady.

#3 – Asparagus

Although this could fall under the Fruit and Vegetable category, asparagus is so valuable to sexual wellness that it deserves its own explanation.  Asparagus is extremely rich in vitamin E, which is proven to stimulate the production of testosterone in men.  Testosterone is promotes muscle growth, sexual drive, and overall confidence.  This amazing vegetable is great for increasing the libido of both men and women!

#4 –  Mackerel and Salmon

The pleasure of sex all revolves around stimulation of the nervous system, and Omega-3 fatty acids make your nervous system function better.  Fish like Mackerel and Salmon are packed full of Omega-3.  It also enhances circulation, which is vital for both male and female sexual stimulation.

#5 Beer and Wine

Drinking a couple glasses of wine or beer a day can be very beneficial for heart health. If your heart is unhealthy then everything else will suffer including stamina in the bedroom.  Wine is also packed full of antioxidants which will improve your general health and help to prevent prostate cancer.  Of course there is also the relaxation and the lowering inhibitions that can be very beneficial in the bedroom….just don’t overdo it or you’ll be snoring beside a very upset lady!
